lol, Helen, no need to apologise for him, we both took it as a compliment ;-)

ROFL at the telling the bloke he'll die from smoking (surely only about 50% likely to die from it?) and would love to know what he said to your parents :)

Went out a couple times with one bloke when I was young, and the first time he came to pick me up from my house, my dad opened the door, stuck out his hand, and said "Hello, I'm Alison's dad", and Paul (if that was his name!) ignored the hand and said "Good for you"! Could kind of tell then he might not be The One ...

Not sure what I was expecting Katy, but very happy with who I met!
Sorry to Alison and Layla, but that is typically Chris. He was so tactless when he met my parents that it was about 4 years before i took him home to them again. [and about 7 for them to forgive him!!]

I met a woman at one of the camps who I had been chatting to regularly off list for about a year. We took one look at one another and did NOT get on. It was spooky actually about how decided our reactions were - no half measures. I think we were so far off what each had been expecting, there was no turning back. She even emailed me when we got home and said she would not be writing to me any more, as we had nothing in common. The last time I was dumped like that I was 15.

He told Layla and me that he was used to difficult women - so that's at least 3 of us he called difficult, lol.
(It was only about wanting milk in tea Sarah, nothing too exciting!)

Please don't tell me it was chris calling you difficult!! It is bad enough that he told the poor man we are buying house from that he was going to die from smoking [sigh!!]. chris is rarely omniscient, so don't go giving him delusions of grandeur!
OMG have to rescue family, as chris told SB he was going to saw up her jigsaw. [more sighs]
