Oh I really sympathise with the sleepless baby thing - torture.

Both of ours were pretty bad sleepers. Pearl finally passed a night alone in her own bed at about three and a half. Leo was the sort of baby who demanded that I sit up and breastfeed for hours of the night. He also liked to play at 3am in the middle of our bed. We cracked when he was 13 months and did a bit of a 'programme' on him - putting him in cot awake and fed and then leaving the room for two minutes. We never left him for more than two minutes and miraculously he got the idea in two nights. He slept through from then on and held on to his nice bedtime breastfeed until he was two. We never thought we'd do something so regimented but it was one of those times when everyone's sanity was on the line!

Now they are so independent around sleep it amazes me. I slept in with a migraine yesterday and on emerging at 10am found them watching primary history and making sandwiches. It will get easier! Good luck.

Wishing you lots of long hours of sleeeeep.

Hope you are having fun with visitors.
