As to HSB, shrug. I have a few blogs that I read on HSB and non of them are raving fundamentalist child beaters so I’m afraid I can’t really boycott them as I enjoy reading them. Then again I’m never too sure on these boycott things anyway, the only things that my boycotting Nestle seems to have saved is several hundred pounds I would otherwise have spent on expensive coffee and choc.

1) It is, as Jax has said, raising the profile of the issue – I’ll go further than Jax and say I think this is a good thing ;-)
2) I don’t want anyone to click anywhere on my site and be taken to a site that supports the P**rls. Apart from not wanting to be associated with HSB myself, every impression on their site increases their revenue a little.

Whether the boycott is effective or not, it’s just as easy for me not to link to HSB as it is to link to it; it costs me nothing either way, and my preference is not to link to it, so that’s what I’ll do.
