thanks Allie, i think this sums up very much for me my feelings of weaning at this point. it is right now for me and my family, although BB not been overly impressed, she hasn’t made as much fuss as i thought she might.

Leo weaned at just about dead on his second birthday too. I think it was fine for us but I had definite pangs of guilt at the time as well as being quite sure of the ‘rightness’ of it.
I knew some people who breastfed up to four or five and who clearly thought I was mad to be weaning a ‘baby’. On the other hand I had family who thought it was pretty astonishing to be still breastfeeding someone of nearly two.
I have lots of happy memories of breastfeeding and I think if I’d gone on much longer I’d have got fed up with it. I found it really helped my relationship with P once Leo could no longer ‘claim’ me by breastfeeding. He remained a very cuddly child throughout and that helped any guilt pangs.
Hope BB fells better soon.

helen hre, chris forgot to renew hosting on time, so hopefully we will get emails once again on mon.
very wierd to have weaned. It was just doing me in completely with feeding and working and BB more territorial than actually wanting food. but actually feel crap about it yet right at the same time. we just did complete cold turkey – i told her it had run out, and gave her dairylea instead.

Wow, weaned! Bet that feels weird. We’re an awfully long way away from that stage yet…. which is kind of good and bad at the same time. Poor BB though, hope she feels much better soon.
