rofl at separated siblings [didn't seem to be working, but then, there was BB!!]
castle day is on. fancy dress if possible.
will think of some fun castle themed crafts to break up the prince and princess play!!
those without castles also welcomed, as errant knights and damsels in distress also required [plus the odd dragon!]

We'd be up for castle day :) Can bring wooden fort and colleseum, both from ELC and complete with dragons and princesses.

I vote for the top one and agree with Michelle about different ones meaning they get to enjoy 'new' toys when visiting friends.

I like the summer castle day idea. We don't have a castle but could start collecting cardboard boxes now! Chloe missed out on a Plantagenet party last summer so we could have another chance to do the costume and theme . . .

We have three castles in this house. All ELC ones. One of them is bright pink, one of them is the castle of doom. The pink one doesn't get touched but that's because it's Boo's and she doesn't touch special toys :-) The other two get played to death with. The children vote for the top one as it looks much cooler and the dungeon swung it for sure!

I went for gaudy. :-)

TBH, so long as it is a proper castle with a battlemented wall, a tower and a drawbridge, I doubt that there is much difference in terms of play value and pleasure that children will get out of them. Must admit, I particularly chose one where two children, sitting on opposite sides, would have difficulty reaching each other.

Like the idea of the dungeon though.

That's what I think too michelle [i def prefer the first!] since we are waiting for chris to build a dolls house [3 years so far] I don't think I'll add castle on to that! too much DIY.
I did suggest we could have a castle fest here, with everyone bringing their castles in the summer - a home ed themed day on castles?
anyone up for that?
I do think SB is worried that if Big got the one she did, it must be because it is the best and only best, rather than what she fancies.
Only 20 days till her birthday to get it...

I like the dungeon too.

We had a policy here that no family was to buy the same toys as another family - so the kids go to each others houses and have "fresh" or "new" things to play with. So again I would choose the original one.

I think also it's more fun if there are lots of accessories. Chloe would probably prefer a cheaper or even home made castle but then lots and lots of shop bought bits.

Her friend Fran (Francis) has a Playmobile version with cannons and tower and they get very absorbed in it, changing helmets, bringing horses in, equipping the army etc.
