I reckoned that if we weren’t careful she would end up scaring herself out of going to bed. Anyway, she and I agreed that there was a blue monster with green teeth called Norman, who lived under her bed, and was friendly, and kept all the other monsters away. Big even invented a family for him.

I can recall the look of horror on visiting child’s face when Big cheerily told about the monster who lived under her bed. :-)
