Joe’s music reading is the same, he can do it (sort of – by counting up from middle C) in isolation, and on the piano – on violin the fingerings don’t seem to relate to real notes for him yet. Trouble is I find myself getting really confused when I have more than one child in the room and I end up calling out violin fingerings instead of notes to the wrong child, honestly, it’s very confusing! Or I say ‘D’ and he plays open D instead of 3 on A, if you see what I mean. Must work on this. I guess one day it will all just sink in and begin to come together on its own, well that’s what I’m hoping!
