My parents had no luck with the humane traps. Nothing would tempt them in although it probably didn't help that Master R was hiding food behind the sofa for them. They got a plug in thingy which they had very little faith in and didn't work when plugged in one place but they/it seemed to disappear when the plug was put somewhere else. So if the plug doesn't work maybe experiment a bit with where you put it. I don't know if it is to do with outside/inside walls, high up/low down sockets etc or what.

We were plagued about 8-9 years ago. We'd seen one and it was really cute and we did nothing. More fool us! They come through from the neighbour who laughed at my humane traps as he uses snap traps. My humane traps were persistently ignored, not a single mouse was caught in them and we did use peanut butter and chocolate too. Midwife caught one in a bowl and Marcus then did the same but then I had to drive for 4 miles with a live mouse in a bowl in the car so rapidly went off the live capture option.

So we went for die in your sleep poison and it was grim - they were found in non nest sites - but at least they were gone. The sonic thing is on in the kitchen and it's meant to go around electric circuit in house but not sure whether it really works as it can't reach into the walls and behind cupboards.

We're probably due another mouse invasion. :-( It was ants for the last couple of years.

We sadly still use die in your sleep poison in the loft as we can't be checking up there all the time.

My mother sometimes has mice - but that's because the cats bring them in to torture.

I think the key to it is the food supply thing is crucial. If you leave easy pickings they won't need to spend much time expose to the repellers and they won't need to forage, so they won't bother with your traps, and the cats will have no chance to catch them either.

Not convinced by the one big repeller - they don't work well through walls, I believe, so you would have to leave all your doors open.

Rehoming. There is a shortage of mice in Peterborough, so if you are ever visiting friends there, you can drop off your mice. :-)
