i have no problems with SB asking and knowing. i am just waiting till she really asks. we have books about it on her bookshelf that she could just pick up and read anyway - so no secret. just, well I thought she would have asked by now really. if the view of australopithecus mating on walking with beasts [tastefully behind long grass] hasn’t given her a few ideas…

I don’t think I’ve ever smiled more at a first line of a blog post. Really, really chuffed to bits with that. As obviously you are too. Big smiles here.

2 days ago when Clo got her boar she pointed out the testacles and informed me that’s where the sperm comes out. “Ah, no” I replied “it comes out of the penis, same as a man’s wee”. She was puzzled and asked “so it goes all over the sheets?” And I pointed out that a pig doesn’t use sheets - he lives in a sty! She’s cross now because I’m being deliberately obtuse. “No, in humans.” she says patiently. So I took a breath and said “Well, the penis goes in the woman’s vagina.” Her face brightens as enlightenment clears up a mystery I didn’t know she had “they link up!”.

I actually feel relieved it’s all over and done with. But I apologise in advance if she shares her new found knowledge. I don’t think she will unless it comes up in conversation.

And fortunately Clo’s bike will last her a long time yet.

Really relieved for you. I needed ref to breast clinic a couple of years back, stress was hideous. I go to BUPA for regular mammos, though of course, am now entitled to free ones, so I shall probably only pay for every second one.

Well done on not giggling at the dancing question. I was not so controlled when Jade came down from bed the other night and asked “why do we have lips?”. I’m afraid I just fell about laughing, and ended up saying something like “because otherwise there would be a ragged bloody hole round your mouth!”
