		<description><![CDATA[Yes, that&#039;s more or less it - its the point where you have to decide if you are going to western or eastern scotland. I think IIRC (from school girl history, not cos i was there in person!)that the romans&#039;s built the original junction there, to service different bits of Hadrian&#039;s wall. Of course, no self respecting Scot would use the word &quot;Scotch&quot; nowadays to describe something Scottish. (unless of course they were referring to uisge beatha ;-))]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[I just thought it was called Scotch Corner because it is a corner and if you go left on the A66 you get to Scotland (Glasgow) and if you take the right on the A1 you still get to Scotland (Edinburgh).
