Joyce, 7-8K was is the off the top of his head standing in the garden estimate for a new one putting up a new one (remember we have walls, and floor etc. already)

Listed shouldn’t have problem if you do a like for like replacement.

The complicating factor is the Listed building dept, who would need to agree replacement. Originally we talked with them about repairing, but that was a couple of years ago – lots more paint has fallen off so showing more clearly the extent repairs that would be required.

Dave – why must the vine go? certainly intend to keep ours.

Wow! That conservatory is potentially great. I can understand the builder’s point of view and I guess it would be much faster just to start again. Lovely to have such a space for play and entertaining.

We had one like that at our old house and had to replace it as it became really dangerous.
