Sorry to hear about Little Nanny (big hugs).

Huge congratulations to the girls on their prizes - very proud moment for you all.

On the quote thing - this is exactly what is worrying me about the potential one-on-one interview thing. Children (and me too at times) can come out with things quite innocently and open a can of worms. We were talking just this evening on instructing out two on the best responses etc. I must admit I have been known to do just what sb talked about and I'm not ashamed at all. It's helping to make my children concentrate on their own and produce their own work with their own ideas etc. When they need help they'll ask and this, in my opinion, is all about progress in their education as it's a skill they'll need when they get into senior school.

Is this wrong? I exert a great deal of effort in trying to achieve this.

I've been thinking that i'll have to do exactly that, coaching my children to pass an interview. And i will do it - and it will stress them out and make them anxious, but this is going to be part of them taking responsibility for their life i suppose.

In some respects, i think it will be similar to the complications of the "do you want school/don't you want school" thing we experienced with Fran; it is going to be difficult, stressful and we won't really know what is going on in their heads about it or what others will see. Or whether they'll 'pass'.

Joy.

And as for SB - !!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yes I'm quite sure you just thrust activities at your children so that you can get on with things!!!!! How can she say that?!! We'll have to start coaching our children on the interview process nearly as much as schools coach children on passing SATS! pmsl.

Sorry to hear about Little Nanny, hope you can get to see her really soon.
