Ah yes, repair kit :) Although most repairs can just be done with gaffer tape - one of our absolute essentials that I somehow forgot earlier!

Will look for a Turboflame lighter, sounds very useful.

(Ponchos must have side seams, otherwise no good for walking about campsite in over nakedness, lol!)

I do mean to get some waterproof trousers, but I rarely wear them so never seem to get around it. if it's wet I prefer to stick on shorts under the waterproof. mostly that's ok. Though would have been useful taking down the tent on Arran, when it was raining the whole time we were taking it down (it was the worst striking camp conditions we've had I think.

I'm happy with my a single sleeping mat, but the kids always seem to end up on the floor :-)

I think my favourite camping gadget is a head torch, I don't know how people camp without them, they are just so useful.

After being frustrated by various lighters for the stove I like my Turboflame one. It doesn't blow out or mind getting a bit wet. It just does the job well.

We do actually have Delta pegs now - I got the the metal ones.

A repair kit for things such as the tent (spare Kyham joints, repair fabric, duct tape seam seal etc.

oh, we have toweeling ponchos for girls too. all our inflatables are singles, but we were wondering whether we wouldn't be better to have 2 doubles, as we often find that we are in the gaps!
nah to our waterproof trousers chris wants to get some waterproof chaps! [mmm] i would like 'knee gaiters' ie waterproof bits to go from top of welly to mid thigh.

I don't seem to have enough sleeping bags on mine ....

I like the towelling ponchos my kids have - means they can walk back from showers or swimming in them and get dressed in tent, rather than in wet shower cubicle! We also have a couple of little tables that are quite handy. For a doormat we take some old carpet (have a huge roll of it that was left in the loft!).

And yes, I have been converted to self-inflating mattresses - have 3 doubles, a single and a knackered single, lol. 2 of the doubles are Vango, and are fine. The other is an Airic - the doubles were a trial run - which seems extremely well-made. The singles were el cheapo Aldi ones.

My favourite camping gadget is our chopping board, which has a cutlery drawer built in :)

Do you and Chris not have waterproof trousers too?
