This has been appearing on various lists today, so just spreading the word. It’s the text of a letter from the DFES – sent to people who had asked to be kept informed.
The Department has recently decided not to pursue any changes to monitoring arrangements. Instead we are consulting on draft guidelines for LAs prior to their publication. This consultation launches today and will run for three months. The consultation document can be found at www.dfes.gov.uk/consultations.

Mine was a cut and paste from a message to a list, so it might not have been a straight copy of the email from DFES?
