Musical Monday – Bach Italian concerto and mendelssohn song without words

we were talking yesterday and led to as a child spotting my mothers mood by the music she played. she loved playing this whilst i was a child.  searching for her fav still

I wonder if my children will associate this and this with me? my mother also frequently played this suite, leading me to want to learn it.

  1. Thank you for those. Loved both of them.

  2. glad you liked them, there is one more to add, but though i can sing it, i can’t remember enough about it to youtube it – will have to ask mum!!
not that i can play 3 properly any more, and not sure i could ever quite play it at that speed, but barenboim is a piano hero of mine!

  3. Yep. Enjoyed 3 a lot too. 2 was least fav but not sure why. Perhaps it was because a bit slower and less cheery.

  4. Thank you. I love your musical Monday’s. They calm me down and lighten my soul. Wish I could remember to listen more frequently in my week as my world needs it urgently.

  5. hugs ros. when you are in the peace of your new house, i am hoping it will all click into place. and think what fab piano space you have.
i have found the other ‘my mum’ piece for next week, and i think you will love it. it was her end piece of cheer and joy.
