SB really really wanted a swimming party this year for her birthday, so we said ok. SHe then really, really wanted to share it with 2 great friends – P and M – so we said yes again and they really have had fun making guest lists, party favours, presents for each other, and just getting v v excited So on Sat our house was more or less ready when loads of friends both local and far flung started to arrive, and the excitement level went up on a logarhythmic scale [my spell checker says i have mispelled that, but i don't like the alternatives!] . lots of excited chatting and playing until we set off for the swimming pool. It was an inflatables party, and racing along was the name of the game. Loved the enthusiasm of the children, the easy turn taking [we had half the number allowed as we had thought 30, and then 6 fell out for one reason or another and we had been allowed 40]. the kids had such fun that some of the adults joined in too. all v happy and jolly. SB said she had really loved it . This is her making a splash…
Whilst some of us were doing that, others were decorating buns and trampolining back at the ranch, and also setting out party tea. Which is good, because the swimming party were extremely ravenous on return
after cake we adults then did tea [all in the wrong order!] and lots of chatting, being sociable and feeling lucky in the friends that we have an early night for some kids, and a v late night for others [ours of course!] led to a later get up, but i had sensibly laid out breakfast the masses of cake persuaded us to have cake-fast instead . lots of trampolining, balloon fun and general happiness. the last of the guests left mid afternoon and we slumped [in fact, sb had already sloped off to read a book and fell asleep] .SB loved all her presents as well made with love or well chosen, and loved her birthday and loved her friends. We loved them too, thankyou for coming
Fab all round
was a fab weekend, thanks again for inviting us!
