A childhood of ballet

SB was really keen to do ballet when she was little, so enrolled into the ballet school in the village approximately 10 years ago. She took her grade 6 last week. Due to time pressures, not least exams and air cadets, she is now thinking of finishing ballet. The teacher is having a year sabbatical, and the class will clash with air cadets for the new teacher. Another end of an era! She has taken lots of joy from ballet, and I am glad for the poise, posture and skills she has developed as well.

  1. So sweet! You can tell by the gallumping elephant tread sounds that reverberate around this house that no ballet pursued here!

I’m trying to descend the stairs in a quiet controlled fashion as that is something my Physio suggested to strengthen knee (would be good for other leg too). Apparently gravity and skeleton use for descending is not so good. Should use the muscles! Takes ages though. Sorry for anyone stuck behind me.

  2. She can always pick it up again later. My friend loves her ballet classes and restarted after her daughter was about 8. So a long gap and she wished she’d gone back to it earlier. There’s also a home edding mum near us that does ballet as recreation. Good exercise.

  3. yes, i think if it were carrying on with same teacher and same times that SB would carry on too. Just too many changes! Looking at the 2 photos is a bit discombobulating! where did my little girl go, and when did she turn into this youg woman?
