A Quick one – for a change!

And hopefully people will get to read it, as we are sticking to this design – for a while – i think.

I have been on the grouch side today. Not going to bed earlier enough, and an early waking BB and SB prob set it off. not helped by being rung by ex-colleague at ex-work wondering how I had got on with this research that I am deciding to let go of. Grrr – it would have been finished if I had had any help and support, so I ranted about the 200+ hours I have devoted to it for it to fail due mainly to complete lack of help and downright obstruction from some. I think she regretted asking! Damn right too on a sunday! [ouch, still a grouch!]

SB had a non-existant concentration span this morning. She wanted to paint, play with the shredded paper, measure things. it took most o the morning to settle on painting. we decorated an egg box as a treasure chest, [art] then played lucky dip with the shreded paper and her doll family. she then went and played with them om her own, making up little stories.

She did a tiny bit of measuring with me and some addition [maths] and ‘helped’ Chris with some packing. In her flight from thing to thing, she did open studydog herself and do some! [IT english] so went weyhey, autonomous!!

digression – BB sleep in my arms. She is lovely. I am so glad we were lucky enough to have children. There was quite a long time that we didn’t think that would happen.

We managed to catch on vid SB singing to BB how happy we are that she is here, and that she must never go away – ah!

A frien had his 4th birthday party at Monkey Maze in Garforth. Although hot and noisy for me, the actual soft play area fantastic – oh to be a child. highly recommend the place! Needless to say, SB had a great time. [socialisation]

Todays summary, well i was grumpy, shorter of temper than I should be, and more easily frustrated by SB’s ‘just…’ however, seeing SB having such fun, and just looking so beautiful and gorgeous [yes I know thats not really pc of me, but o so true] as she raced around with a big smile on her face with her friends. Well, it gave me my happy back! The thai after she went to sleep not bad either!

  1. I like your little italic daily summary Helen, quite appeals!
Clearly SB knew it was Sunday.
Keep that video to play when they start squabbling- it’s just started creeping in here, whole new dimension!!!
Glad you’re sticking to this design, I like it and it’s nice to have such an attractive neighbour- even though it is giving my oh-so-basic-blogger blog inferiority issues.
Why is my comment above awaiting moderation- it’s not rude or linked?

  2. I guess it must hgave got caught by the part of the spam blocking, which holds comments for moderation if they match certain words – not sure why though looking at the post.

  3. hmm, dunno Heather, but since this is a upgarde who knows? I’ll investigate.

  4. s’okay Heather, I did the same thing to Helen yesterday, because she used the word ‘mature’ in her comment! There are some words which are very innocent in themselves but I have flagged them up as for some reason they get used in not-so-nice ways too!!

  5. teen is a good one…

Edit by Chris – yep that got caught :-)

  6. thought so. If you’re using the standard list there are some words that will crop up in our conversations that will get moderated.

  7. Ahhh, I had the impression (dunno why) that it was matching whole words, of course it isn’t it’s just pattern matching for any text matching the given strings. In this case Heather yours was caught becuase ‘ambien ‘ is in the spam words list (a drug I assume maybe ?) and of cousre that match with the word ambient.

Hmm, and I seemd to have stopped recieving any emails when comments are awaiting moderation.
