A Blue Day

For me anyway. SB enjoyed nursery, and excited by the goodbye party tomorrow. She baked cupcakes with Chris and decorated them in its honour. Wht does her happiness and exitement not take away my guilt for uprooting her?? I was uprooted at 5, and don’t remember being partic sad/stressed or whatever.

We tidied – always a hated task – and threw away memories – so it seemed.

i hate moving.

i also hate days without SB fun to cheer me up!

BB teething, so feeding erraticaly, not taking alternatives to me, and also sleep gone to pot -3.30am she finally fell asleep last night! So post ilness and knackered not really helping

I really hate change, and change of my security zone/bolthole is not good!

where is that chocolate when you need it!

  1. Aww, (((Helen)))

  2. thanks jax

  3. bit late here but ((Helen)) – moving is hellish, so stressful :(

  4. (((Helen))) from me too. I always quite like the feeling *after* having cleared out stuff, it somehow feels healthy to do it every so often (and we’ve moved almost once a year since we’ve been married!), but it is horrible during.

It *will* be worth it, honest!

  5. Bit late here too, but just focus on that lovely new house and all the memories you’ll make there. SB will be fine- Pip backpacked with us for 10 months and then lived in a small village and had to move whne she was 5 due to Sim’s training. She’s a confident, happy, friendly girl so I don’t feel bad about it. This ‘bit’ of house moving is awful though….lots of bestest wishes for the next few days. Don’t blame you ’bout getting them to pack for you as sounds like 150 squid well spent.

    Urgh about BB’s late night!!

  6. Moving always makes me feel really unsettled and anxious – but try and think ahead to the lovely new place. Good luck!

  7. thanks for good wishes.
i do think this is the right thing, its just the wrench.
    yeah, new house gorgeous

  8. this time next week you’ll be blogging with everything unpacked around you in your new home.

sure the next couple of days will be stressful but for SB the whole thing is an adventure – Davies loved moving :-)

We buried a ‘time capsule’ thingy under the floorboards when we moved – just a few odd things like photos, a short note about us while we lived there and so on – really felt like we were leaving a bit of us there in exchange for the memories we were taking with us.

  9. OH Nic, you’ve reminded me that when we were kids my folks renovated a chapel for us to live in- they did everything with a ‘tricks of the trade’ manual as their guide (back when you could legally wire a socket in your own house- SIGH) and we made a time capsule about our lives and Dad built it into a wall. Months later big sis told me that she had described me as a bossy, horrid sister. My parents refused to rip the wall apart- meanies!

  10. like the time capsule idea
