  1. Chris (the portico)

    Eglu the new ipod.

  2. Well, the chickens are very low-maintenance and much fun! go for it!

  3. yes, I want one too but we need to chicken proof the back garden first…. Tim has “promised” to have it done ready for spring (you can get cheaper set-ups but non so easy on the eye as the Eglu)

  4. Tony point blank refuses! We do have foxes, badgers and a dog so I think it might be a nightmare :-(

  5. Chris says he will knock up a chicken coop for me instead – yeah right! Anyway I like the eglu! Have to hope they seel more cheaply on ebay in the future – we prob only need 2 or 3 chickens. I like rhode island reds, buff orpington and light sussex as lookers – think these are all large-ish birds though. Maybe chris does need to make a large coop for me!

  6. I do think they look good, just think they are rather silly money for chicken coop. Thinking about it our garden would be good for chickens as it has a (mostly) 6 ft + wall al round it

  7. We have had some light sussex bantams which are small. You definitely ought to get some chickens, although ours are no longer entirely free range since we have plants we want to keep – if you’re growing veggies you probably should keep the chickens in an enclosure.

  8. well, chris has just removed part of the veg bed enclosure!!
think I would love to just go out and get, but will get chris to make an enclosure – as eglu is a bit steep!
did you buy from nearby, or get fertilized eggs?
