Call for ideas

finished last seiries of west wing, and uncertain what else will keep me sane? might try to find the early series.

It can’t be scary/ minimal dying – particularly of children. CSI OK as they are already dead/ a step away from my life?

any ideas??

  1. um, dunno whether NCIS – Season 1 is occasionally a bit too scary – they do have occasional deaths on screen. Can’t recall any children dying though. It’s out as region 1 already, and region 2 comes out in a week or so I think.

  2. Well I’ve never got into it but everyone else raves about Lost … otherwise there’s always Animal Crossing but I suspect that wasn’t really what you wanted ;)

  3. lost not my thing.
    AC – hmmm!!!!

  4. do you get to believe in them, like you do the west wing characters?
obviously we are not buying DVD’s!downlads/rentals r us!
think NCIS prob OK [as CSI ok, waking the dead and cold case - though none with that grippability of west wing]

  5. Sharpe?? lose yourself in a Sean Bean accent? No?

  6. X files? If you didn’t already watch the series. Never really done series between Beverly Hills 90210 years ago and Lost today!

  7. West Wing is the best! When I met my British boyfriend, now husband, and was thinking about coming to live here–it was a major dilema–him or West Wing! He almost lost! We just listed all the series for sale (series 1-4 are unopened) or else I would send you them to watch. Does your library have them?

  8. I found / am finding Prison Break surprisingly watchable. It’s a bit slow moving at times, but the central character is interesting. Basic elements are political conspiracy, prison escape (as the name suggests) and family relations.

  9. We’ve got the first series of WW on DVD if you want to borrow it. C’s mum is a massive 24 fan, I think my parents have been getting into it too, but I’ve never watched it. Lost’s great, what have you got against it? ;-) Desperate Housewives? The Prisoner? (Prisoner Cell Block H? ;-) ) US version of The Office (lots more episodes!)? I’ve followed ER from the start, but that’s probably a bit of a busman’s holiday. One of the adaptations – Bleak House, that sort of thing? The Trollop thing that was on last year was supposed to be good.

  10. We are going to get Life on Mars on dvd, that was great. Not very many episodes though, only about 8 but another series on its way.

Is about a man in a coma though, so occasional beeps of life support machine when he nearly regains consciousness out of strange seventies head injury inflicted life – that okay?

  11. Keen Eddie! Boston Legal is very funny, great cast…

Firefly rocks but might not be your thing since no-one’s mentioned anything sci-fi-ish!

  12. was life on mars that cop one?
lost just didn’t grab me. desperate housewives are too thin [jealousy!]
actually have caught few prison break and found it good.
chris suggested rewatch the whole of babylon5. trouble is, it had such a duff ending!

  13. can recomend csi-especially csi miami. it is bright and sunny and full of glamorus locations. can lend you the first season if you like. other than that what about star trek voyager or the next generation.

  14. Yeah, cop one and fab. Besides, i quite fancy him ;) Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow :)

  15. Bob bought me the entire 5 series of Cold Feet when I was at my most bed-bound after Melrose. I have to say I rather enjoyed it.

  16. NCIS is v. v. silly – I really enjoyed it :)

Six Feet Under is good but obviously has lots of dying, I couldn’t watch it now.

We mainly stick to CSI type cop things (can’t watch medical soaps) or West Wing (watching it from the beginning again) Si likes Lost (it just annoys me).
