i have tried to suggest all sorts of more authentic wooden castles, expandable ones, or just plain nicer solid wooden castles, but she wants a scary one! However, may wait until one comes up on ebay [she's happy with that]

That is actually completely horrible! I’d be putting my foot down; tell her you don’t approve of toys that project fear and violence and it will give her nightmares!
i obviously would havethe expnadable one so I could add to it, and have another minor toy obsession!

I think the key thing was that when she saw it in ELC a while back it was by far the biggest :-)) Though she does seem confirmed in her desire to have something scarey.

We have a playmobil castle, no where near as impressive as that, but just as able to trap people in the dungeons and have all sorts of nasty games.
My girls drew a picture together the other day I dunno if I remembered to blog it or not, but there is a fireman locked in a tower, he got in there through a hatch in the top, so high up he can’t get out again. Outside there is a guard stopping anyone from saving the fireman. To aid him he has a big pit with scary bats in the bottom of it, and he chucks would be heoros or heroines into the poisonous sea.

When we were talking about people that might take them away the other day mind you, the worst they thought would happen if R got snatched was the people wouldn’t know when her birthday was and she’d be 4 forever!! So I guess it doesn’t equate to real life to them at all all this violent play.
