Parsnip?

BB has just been dozing on the sofa, she’s has just woken up and is going on about ‘Parsnip on the TV’.What she means is Spud from Bob the Builder.

But why Parsnip???

Strange what goes on in kids heads.

(de-lurking at the oddest times!)… it’s his nose. It’s a parsnip. In one of our books it gets bent and the gag is he’ll have to, “get a new parsnip!”

Yeah, I know he has a parsnip nose, but it seems odd to call him after that, seeing as he gets called Spud’ lots

I see. I figured maybe she couldn’t get her mouth around “Spud” yet… my own just-turned-two-year-old refers to “green” and “pur-pur” because he can’t say Dipsy and Tinky-Winky. As you say, who knows what’s going on in their little heads!
