well, i did get to see some of the percy-whatsits last night. i hadn’t realised they could be so fast! the clouds lifted enough at about 2am – oops.
today, girls watched more bonjour les amis as they like moustache, SB did some maths and there was some tidying and reading. When I came home, she read me some more of a rainforest book and at bedtime another chapter of the magic tree house rainforest book. The has been doing a lot of jump ahead on ‘puter. i read to BB, and a doze as still migrainous – not quite so bad now, but shattered at lack of decent sleep and rest too. BB and I did a pairs game with animals. some have names [actually most do] but some are just ‘nother mamimal’ She particularly likes lions.
tea was chips, in the hopes that the real kick of carbs might lift blasted migraine! SB and I played battleships and connect 4 and BB went to bed. A good bedtime read with SB, and there you have it.
Lack of sensible food is the trigger for the majority of my migraines. If Clo has a schooled friend over and so eats tea at 6pm and I eat with them if Marcus is due home late, I get a migraine the next day unless I have a second substantial dinner later.
I’ve also taken to bringing up a huge glass of water to the study and surf the internet whilst drinking it – and when it’s gone it’s time for bed! Better a middle of the night loo visit than a migraine.
MIL takes Fiorinal, 4 times a day now she says, it’s crept up since she started on it. She is now addicted to it and yet still says she has migraines daily. Her doctor had warned her about getting addicted to them but she disregarded that advice. The headaches she has are probably rebound headaches and what she should do is wean herself off the Fiorinal – but of course, the headaches will be worse while her body readjusts to non medicated levels – this she would never countenance.
I try and make sure that even if I am having a run of migraines that I have tablet breaks – so today is brought to you by co-codamol and diclofenac, as may be tomorrow if required. its sort of settling – just a band and sickness now. but yes,m eating and drinking sensibly helps.
