actually, there are no attainments here, but i think we have this fairly well covered.
prob a 2 , but i don’t think we have done much of the stuff they are talking about! when the summer comes, we tend to more junk building outside.
geography – a wild a woolly set of attainments
so I’m going to say 3 [-], as i think we do a fair bit of whats on there at different times
3 again, primarily because we do lots of reading and talking and visiting places. and i don’t know how they would assess her! the difference between 2 and 3 not so clear!
are not statutory, so our sketchy attempts are not bad eh!

i have quite a prob with this one as i understand their wordage, and disagree. many kids don’t get to sing in tune, and doesn’t mean any less for their musicianship. i have a non-singing cousin with a grade 8 piano. so is he only level 2 then?? anyway i guess 2.

SATS, that wasn’t so bad was it!! but since she scores 1 for writing, how on earth would anyone external have assessed half of this? think it is pretty meaningless! It seems that ‘most children should be at level 2′ so having wasted all that time, its bedtime
I disagree with lots of it. I think lots of the tests are multiple choice circle a b or c type things, so even if you can’t write you have a 1 in 3 chance of getting it right! But tbh assessing levels on children who have been prepared for the tests is a bit daft anyway (although haven’t seen a whisper of it in Joe’s Y2 work yet so that’s good). Just don’t get me started on the millions of reasons why SATS at this age are evil.
SATS was one of the things that got us looking at home-ed in the first place. this is just ‘my impression’ obviously! looking at it, lots of it is the teachers impression anyway – apart from the maths and english bits.

Hmmm, yes, I was cajoled by Aprilia into buying a set of SATs exam papers ages ago. She wants to do them to show Granny how clever she is (grandpa already KNOWS how clever she is aparently!!!) Typically after I spent the money I found where you can download them on line I may ahve to print the relevent other pages off (having circled the level she is at) and present it to Granny as an “end of KS1 report” just to be facetious.
I do think they are pretty pointless TBH but also I remember doing end of year exams in all subjects at her age. One of the many reasons school and me never made a happy team.
