A camping we will go.

Well, new tent arrived today – the delivery driver had come in the morning when we were out, he came back around 4pm to get rid of the 2 big packages off of his van.The main unit is sitting pitched on the lawn at the moment.
Anyway, we of course need to give it a test run, and anyway, itching to get going with the first camp of the year.  We are planning to go away over the Mayday Bank holiday weekend, probably up to the North Norfolk coast. Maybe stay at Stiffkey (where we camped last year) – on the coast, but right by the salt marsh  – fun for exploring though, so quite  a walk from the sea, esp. when the tide is out. Nice smallish, quiet site, nothing fancy but decent washing facilities. . Or maybe  Deepdale.

Anyone wants to join us, that’d be nice :-)

  1. Us!

Deer’s Glade in Hanworth is apparently nice too.

OMG Now I’m even suggesting camp sites!

  2. ROFL Michelle

Google maps didn’t find any Hanworth except the one in Middlesex :-) Know where you mean though now. Looks nice, think I’ve come across it before.

    Ohh, choices choices :-)

  3. Well, we’re going to the Forest of Dean with the Two Red Boots :)

  4. Oh,I’ve not been to the FOD for years, must go again.

  5. If its not too far and depending on days we might be able to join you! Girls are currently camped in the littlest tent in their room, and itching to camp for real! Norfolk would be perfect.

  6. The place Michelle’s talking about in Norfolk (Deer’s Glade), has a web site:

    http://www.deersglade.co.uk.

I’m really lloking forward to it and so is Chloe – Michelle might even be too. Now I just have to find somewhere to practice putting up the tent – oh for something bigger than a postage stamp sized garden!

  7. hm, tempting… would have to fetch all camping stuff though!

  8. more the merrier! marcus, i wouldn’t worry, if you put it up with friends around we will make tea for michelle to drink, and throw in the odd helpful suggestion whilst videoing for flickr

  9. Hey, Deers glade has Wifi, we could set up a web cam and everyone could watch :-)

  10. You can go off some people y’know . . .

  11. that was me not him.

  12. I imagine we’ve all BTDTGTTS. The first time we put up the Khyam for real it was really windy on a very sandy campsite where the pegs didn’t hold very well. We had half a dozen people from the campsite hanging on the tent whilst we tried to remember how to put it up, while pegs of the bits we did pitched pop out almost as quick as they went in.

  13. We’re thinking of here http://www.stowfordmanorfarm.co.uk/camping.htm

Were going to try Tom’s Field but they seem excessively worthy which irritated me – looks very nice though ;)

  14. think we will go with Michelle’s deer glad suggestion. i might finish work late on fri, so prob sat am – mon of BH for us

  15. Ah, H, that might be problematical then, as it says they have a minimum 3 nights booking over BH weeks

  16. hmm, well if you are all ready to go when i get back from work on fri – I am doing the annual assessments though, so not sure what time that finishes
