aargh fly bites!!

my left leg is covered in gysnormous and extremely itchy fly bites. my right leg totally not! of course i have scratched the tops off etc, but aargh the itch!

anyway, on return from work today i baked cinnamon shortbreads in gingerbread man shape with BB, read to both bB and SB some french words book [ la famille and les jouets] and a book about bees. i took sb to swimming, and she is coming along nicely. cannot for the life of me remember which badge she is going for though. no doubt we will get one at some point this term.

SB had also been to group sport this am, which she reallly enjoys, and ballet, which she adores, so always a busy sporty day for her.

Oh BB and i filled up the bird feeders, as michelle says, we keep the RSPB afloat with the amount of birdfood we get through at the moment.

i am seeing if we can afford for me to consider being part time – ie 3 day week. if we can [with chris earning something] then i might try and wangle that by next april if i can. i think i night currently have work phobia – i wake up nervous as if i either have exam, or if something dreadful about to happen. don’t think this can be normal. i am not sure we can really afford it, but then i think that i might not be able to afford to not do it IYSWIM. however, must have a bit of job security before i decide to make it riskier!

  1. really hope you can sort something work wise to make you feel happier and glad that at least you seem to have some ideas to go forward and make it happen. At least it’s better than thinking you have no options.

  2. Not the same thing but T is now considering putting youngest into Perse pre-prep as well as oldest going to the prep as she is worried about work (she is GP). 4 part time GP’s in our town have been made redundant so she feels FT is the only way to go if she wishes to have a career any more. Also with oldest at the prep (and she doesn’t want to go for scholarships as she feels that puts pressure on them) so will have to face paying full fees (not sure Perse scholarships are worth bothering with anyway she says they cover 20% only?) she will need to have enough for both kids fees. I’m obviously not happy about these developments as will miss them, although they HE in a very structured way, it’s a similar outlook and they do provide the barn for the children’s art lesson. (selfish? Me?)

  3. yeah, that is my worry, parttimers can be outed much more easily. however, the major crux of structural change should be clear at least by next april [we hope] so could see what is poss and what is not.
