ooh, forgot to blog yesterday – v remiss!!

was RSPB walk day. we got there bright and early, which was nice, so all set off in the warmth rather than the heat. What a change a few weeks makes! def a nature walk, we looked at oak apples, saw how ‘the photo tree’ had suddenly become covered in leaves, listened to birds, saw the bracken growing, the bluebells fading, and actually saw a greater spotted woodpecker!

was a lovely walk, and we all really enjoyed it. bB wore herslef out a bit with all the running up and down the steps [her absolute favourite bit!] and we stopped just in time for a picnic on what shall henceforth be called Michelle’s bench! a gentle meander back to the car, and then to the manor house. girls didn’t quite gel. i think late nights, having seen quite a bit of each other and the heat. however, bit of stage-manageing here and there, and a number of apologies from my girls and it was OK. SB a bit all legs and arms though, and had hurt C a number of times, so went home wailing because she had upset her, and now worried about visiting again

oh, and BB calls ants and woodlice ‘antistons’ at the moment. not sure why! she does seem to have a thing for squishing them.

  1. My sister and I used to call Woodlice ‘Edwards’ when we were little, no idea why that came about either, lol! ;)

Hope the thing with SB and her friend is ok.

    Lxx

  2. Linda – it doesn’t really matter to me whether it will be ok or not. They will have to learn to rub along as I like the parents too much :-)

Of course life will be far more pleasant if they can learn to play happily and not requiring constant adult intervention. Clo was a perfect little moo to SB at the RSPB place and just said she was tired which is no excuse for being mean to a friend. Set the tone really.

They did play the best game of Blokus they have ever done. Oops! If I’m not careful I’ll have blogged it here instead of at mine.

  3. Linda, they do often play well together, but SB can cut off nose to spite face given a chance – as it were! I think she is going through an overly emotional phase [she cries at all sorts of odd things] and is more demonstrative, whilst C likes a bit of personal space. they did play a fab game of blokus – and are often best when playing a game. i think a 3 year old boisterous tag along doesn’t always help…
But yes, learning to play well is a priority!! [and BB insists we must go and vist, as she didn't get to play blokus this time!]
