Those helpful people at Flickr…

Well thanks Flickr, like I really need another way to waste time, and help me procrasinate.

For those who haven’t come across it yet, the new interestingness feature is well, interesting.

briefly………..

…got a cold and knackered, so today didn’t go too well, and eventually gave up and went to bed – so much for spending time with the beans. She got a parcel from my sister, so dressed up as a pirate, and used the painting set to paint flowers and shells – rather nicely.

Did do loads of reading library books before bailed out though, and when got up we did lots of lego games and stories.

SB went to a party at nursery thrown for the school leavers! I went to bed again. When she got back we did more lego, played outside – nice photos of her in bridesmaids dress [as this is now party dress] in the garden.

on coming in we did about 6 pages of primary 1a singapore maths weekly revision, including her actually spelling out and reading the word ten!! she is making a stab at writing the numbers, but I’m not pushing it. Also a bit of phonics cards.

She showed a fair bit of interest in the family geneology today, so we will sort out photos etc to do a family tree. Maybe I will buy katy’s timeline programme as well, and do a timeline family book. Have been thinking quite a bit about home ed and how to go on. I’m v happy with our dipping in and about approach in the main, but would like to build up a routine of normals, and also music regularly and the muzzy – which we forget now the telly in another room.

Also having looked at dottyspots blog, am interested in going to here probably on the sunday as sounds fun. [festival of History in English Heritage place in Northamptonshire of M1

BB certainly now really enjoying standing. Also musical toys, and those where you can press buttons. She is also drinking milk well from a bottle at last. of course this now gives us the problem that I’m not sure I can express enough, so may have to use formula partly on working days. Not that happy about that really.

Maybe I’m just knackerd and viral, but really feel my life just isn’t where I want it to be, and fairly powerless to change it. I’m going to have a good try though.

SB started another crystal experiment with me before i went to work yesterday. At this rate need to buy in bulk.

More blogbumping.

We went to bed to late again and struggled to get up, by Alys did sleep in her cot again for most of the night which was good :-)

Once H had staggered off to work I seem to remember we were doing something fairly constuctive, just struggling to remember what……

Sringbean didn’t want any breakfast at first so while me and Butterbean had ours she brought things out into the kitchen. We had a few books, she did a couple of jigsaws, one of which was her wooden one of Europe. Talked about different countries, where we had been, were we are going (off to Copenhagen next week for a few days when H goes to a conference. She saw th e little compass mark on the map so talked about that and about N, S, E, W etc.. The fact that it is in ‘Forrin’ ‘ and ahd and ‘O’ for East just added to the learning experince :-)

At somepoint I aksed her if she had wanted breakfast yet, she plaintivley said ‘I’m waiting for my porridge……’ which I had started making then forgot… bad Daddy moment.

After all the post breakfast babby changing , abluting, dressing etc. (sent SB off to get some clothes, came back with here fairy outfit….) decided about time to start tidying up a bit as Joanna and the girls from Trying Our Bestwere paying a visit on their way back to their house. Stringbean was quite helpful today. Putting away various toys – she is getting much better when asked to do this, unless she ahs got too tired. Wiping down coffe tables and the kitchen table, putting things in the dishwasher etc. Butterbean helped out by going to sleep :-) Joanna said how nice it was having a house just like her with stuff all over the place…..

I’d said they should be coming about 12, so once her clock got to 12 oclock, which she can recognise, she was hopping up to the window to see if they were here yet :-) They arrived bearing lunchy items from Waitrose, so that was rather nice. I is still managing to hang on to a bit of baby chub which Alys is gradually loosing now. so they did a bit of baby bonding. T and Stringbean took a little while to settle down, moslty I think becuase T didn’t necessarily want to play what she wanted ;-) but they rubbed along happily enough, dresing in fairy outfits each, playing with the Brio train track, scampering around outside. SB showed off one of the Singapore maths books whilst I got the lunch ready.

Helen managed to get back before they had to go which was good. so we finished of with tea and cakes on the lawn before they departed. SB confused Tamisn with her different take on the rules for ‘tag’, so at one point they werew bith standingthere expecting the other to be doing something :-)

SB’s lack of sleep catching up caught up with her at about 5.30 when she came over all whingey and cry-ey so she made a failry painless progression to bed tonight. It was lovley to have you all visit Joanna.

Helen seems to have found a window in her tight Flickr uploading schedule to get todays snaps in.

I esp like the ‘Fairy Controllers’:

Ok whose hand do you reckon this is?

Thankyou to Portico’s

for a lovely party, and to Mum.
It was a bit damp, but fun anyway. The children loved the bouncy castle, all the games/toys and each other. The adults loved Parent 1′s killer cocktail, and all the food, oh and the company!
SB loved meeting her friends again, and they had fun over 2 days. she fell asleep at 01:30, but not so late tonight! BB loved the mango.
Thankyou also for the hospitality – the bed was v comfy for the short time we were in it. coffee great!

We have put far too many photos on flikr as couldn’t face editing. Any wanting removing, do tell us! [yep, the link is great! - can't remember if can name and shame??]

Good party then ….:-)

Home safe and sound and tired, more to come later.

Ah, autonomous ed!

SB found the miquon orange book on her shelf and has been happily sat doing it. She is bringing her yellow book bag stuffed to the gunnels with workbooks and readers!!! [i suggested a book for bedtime and if she needed a quiet time – might as well have a mudpud rucksack. She’s just caounted 11 reading books and 3 match and sort – I am suggesting a reduction as she can hardly lift the bag.

Nearly ready [about 90 mins of organising to go, so should leave around 10:30 [so it will be about 11;30!]

1000 photos

on flikr! Have uploaded all of last year. have the early part of this year to do, and also we have digiphotos back to 2002 I think, so will excavate!
i can have a great obsessive time putting into sets and then labelling diff photos and tagging them when I should be doing something else.

Chris made lovely rice things for the Portico Party. I am wearing smartish trousers, slightly dressy! Weather still looks dodgy, so also bringing gazebo. looking forward to seeing everyone thats going.

Is it just me?

Or is flikr a bit flaky today?
Trying to upload, and it is stopping after every piccie saying no connection – we are broadband!
[got to BB’s Birth!]
one of my favs of last year rather magical moment when fountain came on and gave SB a giggle in Athens. I am prob over emoting, but feel that last year was the end of my freedom, so huge golden nostalgic glow over it.
