Busy Day

Well, felt it! Chris and SB went to the tip with all the ‘maybe useful one day’ items, and then to the storage place to find the 6-9 month clothes.
Also had to get the size 2 nappies from the loft, as the sandies and daisies don’t do up, and the tots only just. kissaluvs and med fuzzi’s ok. SB such a skinny shape she was about 15 months before into size 2 – and even on potty training the kissaluv size 2′s were always crossed over.

I searched house from top to bottom for swimming card, but didn’t find it.

We did jolly phonics sounds and blends, and starting to see an improvement, so obviously SB always being teacher doesn’t stop her picking it up. In truth, it was her snake getting it right!

We then went swimming [I talked my way in without card] – SB loves it, and we were in the pool for nearly 2 hours. She mostly loves drowning, though now I have to do it with her. No swimming, but waggling all 4 limbs somewhere near bottom of the pool – I call it being confident in the water! BB also loves it, and was in for 30 mins. She floats beautifully ad waggles on her back. In fact, letting go she still floated, but looked a bit concerned, so we didn’t do it much. Katy mentioned she had a neoprene jacket for Becca. so may look on ebay for BB as she was a bit cold.

SB was playing with Brio with Chris, but just yelled from bathroom that she missed the toilet, but not wee’ed on the ‘spensive carpet. She only went an hour ago. Honestly.
BB is under her playgym ‘talking’ to the giraffe. From explosive sound needs a nappy change, but will let sort out SB first!

BB slept through beautifully last night. I wish SB would.
Snowing intermittantly here, not settled as yet.
Will do a bit of singapore maths in a bit.

edited to add: no singapore maths, but instead read 3 books [12 stories!!!!] of thomas. now on permafeed duty

this is the neoprene thingie we had, definitly go for a larger size, they came up small on Becca.

  2. I too have a fat-bellied baby, so know where you’re coming from! We’re about to get the second-sized nappies out of the loft too. We’re using prefolds and wraps at the moment, and the wraps are just the wrong shape for Calixa’s current shape. I was a bit slow on the washing the other day and she had to go to bed wearing a disposable. Scott and all the girls complained about the smell as they said good morning to her, convinced that she’d done a poo. Nope, just that awful disposable smell, no poo at all!

  3. Nice bit was that I took BB in, we came out early as she is small (relatively…..)doesn’t move much, and gets cold quicker. So I got to sit in the cafe for about an hour, BB asleep in the sling, coffee and paper in hand. Met another baby who is a bit older than BB but somewher down on the 3rd centile (BB right off the top) – looked so small :-)

  4. SB and BB names are so right for your two beanies LOL

  5. ps Elinor 16.2 kg and 107cm, so is bigger than BB, just on 50th for weight and 91st for height, as opposed to BB who is about 1cm above the 99th centile [105th if there was such a thing!] and 99th for height. SO I am officially NOT worried!

  6. I’ve been wondering whether I should be worried about the fact that Tilda can wear a size 10 miniskirt (that I used to wear for work) that I put in our dressing up without it falling down … I go through phases of worrying and being chilled about her weight, and I think I’m just moving back into worried mode ..

  7. I thought your kids gorgeous. I guess I am sensitive to weight as it is a family issue [as well as my own!] and I’d really like to work out how to encourage healthy eating, excercisae without making them either anorexic, or like me, who snuck chocolate at home, and when went to uni got fat!
