Virtuous violin

I have been doing my practice! Can nearly bluff my way through the saint saens organ symphony part, will do the grieg piano tomorrow. The repeat next week. So the concert the following saturday hopefully will not be as stressful.
i’m in seconds as a guest, but actually would find it easier in firsts, as I’ve played both pieces as a first before, and you’re aided by knowing the ‘tune’. Luckilly in the saint saens, the first and seconds at least play at the same time most of the time, so counting in the same.

Our snow now melted

  1. hmm, violin – time to pick *your* brain – Josiah is desperate to start but I’m sure he’s too young, but then there’s the suzuki method – what do you think?

All the best for the concert anyway :)

  2. OOOOO why didnt you have your violin at Melrose we could have had a Caelie.Jonathon had a travelling guitar thingy that was really cute.Good luck with the concert

  3. I got my first violin at a bout 4.5, and was just encouraged really to play it by my mum, rather than suzuki. suzuki is remarkably effective though. I plan to get SB’s violin out [1/10 size] in a regular basis, and am at the moment encouraging holding the violin and bow, and ,letting her make god-awful noises!!
We will then go to trying to make decent noises of open strings. Finally the concept of moving fingers around [aided and abbetted by coloured dots]
In my home ed programme, I hope to introduce notes names on the piano, and just move them accross.
