There and Back Again

i did make the conference in the morning, but when the AGM started decided that that was enough, so went with Family to Glasgow Science centre instead. [science]

It is really excellent. Well reccommended to anyone! SB had a great time with the myrad of exhibits. chris and I particularly taken by a tabard that you then stuck organs onto. never made it to the top!

A bad move was to see alien adventure at the IMAX there. SB loved it, and BB seemed to be enjoying it, but I have motion sickness, and it seems that the only thing worse than being on a roller coaster is being in a 3D representation of one – so I had my eyes shut for most of it!

We finished with the Dessy Duck guide to the moon etc at the planetarium – which SB thought was the best bit. I would have enjoyed the adult one I think! Anyway, for all those going Glasgow way, we can recommend the tall ship and the science centre!

So was the day perfect?? Well no. Chris left digicam in the baby changing room. Arrghh!! Luckily it had been handed in, so he is still alive. then, after a bit of a long drive home, he reversed into the gatepost at a fair lick. Bodycoloured bumpers are a crap idea aren’t they? And ours needs replaceing – but will have to be at indeterminate point in future. Red water bill finished the day off nicely!

Actually, we did do some Exeter maths – SB used that to put me off making her go to bed! [maths], and through the journey also played alot of I spy – which at last SB getting the hang of, so can alternate that with the interminable guess that sign game! [english]

thought of the day when in doubt about work, bunk off!!!! Well, since in the end they decided not to pay me any study leave, so this was completely me funded, I had no guilt feelings in altering my priorities for the day!

Edit by Chris 00:31 SB still awake  , and quick piccie:

You have received photos from Adobe Photoshop Elements

Will sort out some photos properly, but just can’t resist this one, BB in the Imax glasses :-)

  1. Piccie made me giggle, she is so gorgeous.

Steve says there’s no such thing as a pink A-class, Helen, if you want pink you have to settle for a Honda Jazz. Or get the bumpers replaced – yours is a Mondeo, isn’t it? these things happen, eh, it’s only metal (or fibreglass ;) ).

  2. I’m sure SB could sort it with a bit ofpink paint…:-) Things about the bumpers is that the body coloured plastic ones are fairly expensive to fix, – we will need a new bumper and it will need painting. The black plastic ones we have on the Punto are much more resilient – and if you do crash them into something at the most they bend a bit and get couple of scratches which don’t really show much. Helen did the front one in a carpark, I’ve now done the back one. I just thing body coloured bumpers are a stupid idea.

  3. I do agree, btw. Have them on my Touran and I already want the Zafira back for much the same reason!

  4. That pic is very funny! Cutie!
The Science Centre sounds so good, and good for you for spending the time that way, instead of some probably non-productive and lengthy AGM.
Sorry to hear the homecoming wasn’t idyllic, ain’t that the way of things…

  5. helen here – chris and i seem to be swapping identities alot don’t we!
think i’ll have to go for a repsray then when can afford car!!

  6. I’m getting sonfused with the multiple IDs. BB looks very cute, and gald you enjoyed the science centre. Those tabard things are great. Hannah threw the woman when we were there once though, as the woman wanted to give her a pair of kidneys, and Hannah was doing the “no – I only need one – which one is it I need again mum?” bit. And as for your thought for the day – a sentiment I am embracing myself this week ;-)

  7. LOL re kidneys. I think for the comments, i we can live with the wrong name on occassion, as otherwise too much of a nuisance to repetitively log in and out – wil try and do posts right!

Def a good sentiment to embrace at work!

    Hope Hannah a bit better

  8. That was H of course. It’s the new WordPresses fault. Before, you got the same boxes as everyone else, and could change the comment posting name on the fly. Now if you are logged in you don’t get that, it just puts the name in, you have to log out first, of course we forget/CBA/etc.

  9. Love the pic – that’s got to be publishable in print somewhere! And I relate to the motion sickness thing – I can’t go in IMAXes or the like because of the same … as I discovered on a Space Shuttle flight several years ago….!
