but while i was out, chris has done a fab job with tidying up the house. the girls have played alot with their castle, and i managed to pick up a quick bargain at tescos – a coffee table to play games on! our front room being the warmest at night due to fire] and dining room coldest [due to radiators on minimal] playing games in these christmas nights has been a chilly affair. £7 later and we are all set!!
on coming home from work we read a french book altogether, and SB and i did a bit of story of the world together – crusaders. we also read our come look with me book on modern art , Exploring Modern Art (Come Look with Me)
anyway! after that i played some build a beetle with BB – her rules, and fell asleep! [only a short while, but when i woke up chris had the girls in the bath!! and then some puerto rico with SB. it isn’t really playable as 2 player properly, but it gives us both a brush up on the rules etc.
lovely books to be lusting over, must stare more at the art selection. Am wondering whether Small will tolerate doing slightly more structured artistic activities with me as a way in to other forms of studying.
I will need to consider art stuff. I think I have issues with how structured they are but that is really daft seeing as I parcel her off to a taught art session once a week.
I think the issues are with me.
I’m feeling inspired about art too. I bought (from the book people) the Usborne First Book of Art which I thought Megan in particular would enjoy – it uses famous paintings as a springboard for simple art ideas.
yes, i have that one nearly 2ce from book people [ the first copy had 1/3 pages duplicated and 1/3 missing] looking forward to using that as a springboard.
michelle, we don’t need to do it at all! i think i have v few art skills, so would enjoy learning techniques in a relaxed way. we do lots of messing about art anyway, so this would be a clear different session to learn how to use diff media best.
since latinetc will finish after lunch as katy off to babymusic, i’m not sure how often we will get to squeeze art in. however, am happy for a follow on to my house to do some if we don’t – though would be sans french immersion!
ooh I hadn’t seen that Matisse one, need that to add to our set. I love that series :O)
